VIP event

Create from a blank building canvas; a memorable brand event solution to celebrate and mark the opening of the new improved modern airport infrastructure of the North Terminal Extension building at Gatwick Airport.

With the new Gatwick story developing in the press under new ownership, the client objective was to present the new brand of Gatwick in a modern and contemporary fashion to the millions of passengers who would pass through its facilities. National press would be covering the event with the Rt Honourable John Major KG CH confirmed as being guest of honour and tasked with unveiling the facility joined by an extensive airport industry VIP guest list.

From day one the challenge to the Outspoken Projects team was - How do we celebrate such a huge space, creating something stylish and memorable that would be fitting for the audience and adhere to all the usual strict airport health & safety requirements?

Our team presented the idea of an aerial artist duo display as a focal attraction to make use of the huge expansive height & space within the building and coupled this with a Large LED screen wall displaying creative content produced by our in house editors and compiled from many construction project sources. Fronting this screen feature area on a purpose built stage performed a string quartet to entertain the VIP audience during a light cocktail reception within the space. Passengers using the North Terminal facility were also treated to some aviation themed silver statuettes as they passed through the new space providing a memorable photo opportunity.

Our team delivered this project right through from initial conception of the ideas presented to and developed with the client and carried through to full production project management working closely with the airport operations teams to produce a spectacular and memorable solution for the client to showcase its new facility and continue the brand building of Gatwick Airport.

  • A seamless choreographed unveiling and opening ceremony were achieved.
  • National TV and editorial press coverage was achieved.
