GOING OUT WITH A BANG

Summer 2019 marked the third year for Gatwick Airport’s headline sponsorship of the Big Bang Southeast event … so it was important that the ‘Gatwick Zone’ was bigger, more immersive and more engaging than ever before to ensure it truly went with a bang!

The increased event size and client expectations provided a challenge for our team, but our experienced project managers took on the challenge. They liaised directly with the client, suppliers and 20 Gatwick departments to develop an event that highlighted Gatwick Airport as a key regional STEM employer. Our team also presented several new ideas to the client, which included a motion flight simulator and the creation of a bespoke ‘Ideas Wall’ that encouraged students to give their perceptions of ‘The Future of Air Travel’ to a professional artist.

The core services we provided across a six-month period leading up to the event included project management, budgets, logistical management, branding and managing the creation of the bespoke ‘Ideas Wall’. We worked closely with the 20 Gatwick departments involved to develop engaging activities and content for their zone. These services combined ensured everyone was fully briefed and prepared for the two-day event.

Gatwick received a positive response from attendees regarding their zone at the event. This was truly reflected in the record breaking figures for 2019, where 13,492 students from 215 schools attended

Our content team also captured footage and produced an overview video that reflected the engaging and informative vibe of the ‘Gatwick Zone’…
